
ABOUT ANGELA SWADLING
I am an Australian citizen who has lived and worked across the globe in the UK, Hong Kong, Australia and now the United States. I am a passionate educator, art and design practitioner and seeker of creative projects. I am curious and committed to life-long learning and expanding my understanding through transformational and collaborative experiences.
Having spent the last twenty years in education, I have honed my skills in a range of secondary and tertiary settings. I have developed educational management and leadership skills in such roles as Head of Department (Visual Arts and Drama) and Teacher of Visual Arts, Design & Technology and Studies of Religion. I have extensive experience in delivering a range of secondary school curriculum, including: the International Baccalaureate (MYP & DP), NSW (NESA), and the UK Curriculum (KS3/4, GCSE & BTEC). I have a Bachelor of Visual Arts, a Diploma of Education (Secondary), a Masters of Cross Discipline in Art & Design from UNSW.
Since August 2020, I have been based in the United States, teaching high school Visual Arts. I am currently living and working in O'ahu, Hawaii.

As a practicing and exhibiting artist and designer I am passionate about the role creativity can play in society and I relish in the opportunity to collaborate with students to promote their artistic integrity. My teaching and learning practice is underpinned by principles that empower students and colleagues to make choices that facilitate the cultivation of creativity.
